To seek a reduction of unaccounted-for water from the present level.
The Council will also undertake pilot water conservation and leakage
reduction projects and identify measures to be incorporated in longer-term
strategies. The four schemes to be included in this study are Nenagh,
Thurles, Roscrea and Newport.
To improve the distribution network and augment sources in accordance
with Assessment of Needs Programme 2003-2006.
To provide an extension to the treatment plants and distribution network
at Newport and Ballina.
To implement the objectives of the Sludge Management Plan, particularly
in respect of hub centres, transport of sludge and storage facilities.
To provide new schemes as 'design-build-operate' (DBO) projects for Rearcross,
Dromineer, Silvermines and Cloghjordan.
To provide tertiary treatment at Puckane, Dromineer, Toomevara, Borrisokane,
Holycross, Two-Mile-Borris, Templetouhy, Littleton, Portroe, Lorrha, Newtown,
Rathcabbin and Cloghjordan.
To provide 4 new small schemes that will be carried out as DBO projects
for Loughmore, Clonmore, Terryglass and Upperchurch as part of Small Rural
Village Pilot Scheme.
To examine the feasibility of providing constructed wetland as part of
tertiary treatment at the existing treatment plant.
