3.6 Existing Development Plans and Local Area Plans
The County Council has adopted development plans for Roscrea, and is currently preparing a Plan for the environs of Thurles. There are also town plans for the following:
- Nenagh Town Development Plan 2000;
- Thurles Town Development Plan 1992 and Draft Thurles and Environs Development Plan 2002;
- Templemore Town Development Plan 1992
- Roscrea Town Development Plan 1996
A Local Area Plans has been prepared for Newport in accordance with Section 19(b) of the Planning and Development Act, 2000. Local Area Plans are also being prepared for the Western Area of the County (including villages such as Ballina, Birdhill, Dromineer, Terryglass, Garrykennedy, Ballinderry and Puckaun). A joint Local Area Plan is being prepared between North and South Tipperary for the village of Holycross.
