20 May 2012: Water Disruption in Ballina:

North Tipperary County Council wishes to announce that due to a burst watermain, the public water supply in Ballina is disrupted.  A repair crew are working on the problem and it is hoped to resume supply in late afternoon.  North Tipperary County Council regrets any inconvenience caused.

  17 April 2012: Water disruption in Ballina, Birdhill and surrounding areas Wed 18th April

Due to essential upgrade of Newport Regional Water Network  there will be no water supply to Birdhill, Ballina and surrounding areas between the hours of 7.00pm on Wednesday, April 18th until 6am the following morning.  North Tipperary County Council wishes to apologise for any inconvenience caused.

5th April: Burst watermains in Ballina.

Due to a burst mains in the village there will be disruption to the supply until late afternoon. We are working to repair the burst as quickly as possible and regret any inconvenience caused.

30 March 2012 : Water disruption in Ballina and Birdhill Wed 4th of April

Due to essential upgrade of the Newport Regional Water Network there will be no water supply to Birdhill, Ballina and surrounding areas between 8pm on Wednesday the 4th of April and 6am the following morning. North Tipperary County Council regret any inconvenience caused.

30 March 2012 : Water disruption in Ballina and Birdhill Mon 2nd of April

Due to essential upgrade of the Newport Regional Water Network there will be no water supply to Birdhill, Ballina and surrounding areas between 8pm on Monday the 2nd of April and 6am the following morning. North Tipperary County Council regret any inconvenience caused.

28 March 2012   :   Water Disruption in Newport Town

Due to essential upgrade of Newport Regional Water Network, water supply will be interrupted on Wednesday, March 28th 2012 between 8pm and 6am in Newport Town.  Please note that there may be temporary discolouration of the water supply as a result of these works.  North Tipperary Co. Council regret any inconvenience casued.

23 March 2012  :   Water Disruption in Ballina, Birdhill and surrounding areas

Due to essential upgrade of Newport Regional Water Network, water supply will be interrupted on Monday, March 26th 2012 between 8.30pm and 6am in Ballina, Birdhill and surrounding area.  There are likely to be further interruptions in the coming weeks.  Please note that there may be temporary discolouration of the water supply as a result of these works.  North Tipperary Co. Council regret any inconvenience casued.

 

21 March 2012   :   Update Re Water Disruption in Newport, Birdhill, Ballina and surrounding areas

Further to previous update on 20th March 2012 please note that the water supply will now be turned off at 10pm on Thursday 22nd March 2012 until 6am on Friday 23rd March 2012.  North Tipperary Co. Council wishes to apologise for any inconvenience caused.

19 December 2011 : Burst Watermain in Toomevara

Due to a burst watermain, there will be interuption to service in the Toomevara, Monanore and Gortagarry areas until late evening. The council regrets any inconvenience  caused.

13 December 2011 : Burst Watermain in Ballina

North Tipperary County Council wish to announce that due to a burst watermain, there will be no water in the Ballina area until late evening. The Council regrets any inconvenience caused.

13 December 2011 : Water Disruption in Ballina

North Tipperary County Council wish to announce that due to essential maintenance, there may be disruption to the Public Water Supply in Ballina from 10am on Tuesday the 13th of December for a number of hours.

The Council wish to apologies for any inconvenience caused.

17 November 2011 : Burst watermain at Grange Road,  Ballina

North Tipperary County Council wish to announce that due to a burst watermain, there will be no service in the Grange Road or Portroe Road areas of Ballina until late evening. The council regrets any inconvenience caused.

15 Nov 2011 : Update on burst watermain in Ballina

North Tipperary County Council wishes to announce that the watermain in Ballina has been repaired and supply restored. It may however take a number of hours for pressure to be restored to the higher areas of the scheme. The council regret any inconvenience caused.

 

15 Nov 2011 : Burst watermain in Ballina

North Tipperary County Council wish to announce that due to a burst watermain, there will be no water in the Ballina area until at least late afternoon. The Council regrets any inconvenience caused

 

26 October 2011 : Lifting of boil water notice

On the advice of the Health Service Executive, North Tipperary County Council issued a boil water notice, on 21st October 2011, for the following areas only of the Thurles Public Water Supply:- 
 
Leugh Road
Racecourse road to the Hospital of the Assumption
Killinan to Ballycahill
Ballycahill to Knockalough

North Tipperary County Council wishes to notify consumers, following advice from the Health Service Executive, that the Council is now in a position to remove the boil water notice with immediate effect.

Everyone can now resume normal use of the water supply for drinking, food preparation and brushing teeth.

The North Tipperary County Council / Health Service Executive Water Liaison Group will continue to meet and will review ongoing process control, monitoring and testing of the drinking water supply.

North Tipperary County Council acknowledges the patience, cooperation and assistance of the general public during the period of the boil water notice and greatly regrets any inconvenience caused to householders and the business community.

20 October 2011: Precautionary boil water notice for the following areas only in Thurles

North Tipperary County Council  in consultation with the Health Service Executive, wishes to advise consumers in the following areas only on the Thurles Public Water Supply Scheme, that in the interest of public health, it is recommended that all users boil water before use.

The areas affected are

 Water must be boiled for:

Please exercise caution when using boiled water.

Water from the hot tap is not safe to drink

Domestic water filters may not render water safe to drink

Discard ice cubes/filtered water from fridges/freezers.  Make ice from cool boiled water

Unboiled water can be used for personal hygiene (except brushing teeth), bathing and flushing toilets.  Caution should be taken when bathing children to ensure they do not ingest the water.

Every effort has been made to bring this notice to the attention of those consuming water in the affected area.  If you know of consumers who are unaware of this notice, please bring it to their attention or else advise us.  We should also be advised of elderly or disabled persons who may require assistance.

This procedure will continue until further notice.

09 September 2011 : Thurles Watermain Rehabilitation

The Site Investigation Contract for the Thurles Watermain Rehabilitation will commence in Thurles on Monday 12th September for the next 5 – 6 weeks.

The Contractor will be excavating on the following streets:

The works on Slievenamon Road, Fianna Road, Castle Avenue, St Mary‘s Avenue and Mathew Avenue will be day works. The rest of the works will be done at night.

30 August 2011 : Burst Watermain

North Tipperary County Council wishes to advise that due to a burst watermain the following areas may experience loss of water during the afternoon and early evening;

Rathmoy, Bouladuff/The Ragg, Drom, Ballinahow, Ballycahill and Moyaliffe. North Tipperary County Council regrets any inconvenience caused as a result.
