WATER SERVICES INVESTMENT PROGRAMME - ASSESSMENT OF NEEDS REPORT
The Assessment of Needs for North Tipperary County Council including the Town Councils of Thurles, Nenagh and Templemore has been prepared considering the requirement of Department of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government Circular L2/06. This circular requires each Local Authority
"to develop an overall strategic investment plan for the area concerned for the medium to long term and to set out a programme of works to meet the identified water services need".
Circular L2/06 requires the Local Authority to prepare: -
The preparation of this Assessment takes account of The Rural Water Strategy, Development Plans, National Spatial Strategy, National Water Study, National Urban Waste Water Study, National Sludge Strategy, Serviced Land Initiative, relevant EPA reports, Sludge Management Plan, Rural Towns and Villages Programme, The Lough Derg Monitoring Programme and River Basin District Management Projects along with statutory requirements and standards.
The plan is a follow on to the 2003 Assessment of Needs drafted under the requirements of Department Circular L11/03. The plan sets out the needs for North Tipperary up to 2014.
